Happy New Year

Snowy & Sprucey at Fenland Dog Park sent their Christmas cheer to you all, and we wish you and your dogs a happy and healthy 2025.

What a year 2024 has been; thank you and your four-legged friends for the tremendous support you have shown Fenland Dog Park this year, it is very much appreciated.  We will continue to try and keep the site fun, clean and tidy, and an enjoyable place for you our customers to visit.  During the year we had nearly 2,500 slots booked and had 395 new customers visit us, and during the Christmas period we had 10 days in a row where the dog park was fully booked every day for every slot.  Thank you.

The weather in 2024 was not the best!  It was a cloudier year than average, with the summer being especially disappointing.  It was another wet year with 784mm (30.9”) of rain recorded, making it the 5th wettest year in the last 20 years (2019 = 956mm, 2012 = 817mm, 2023 = 808mm, 2014 = 792mm).  The twenty-year average rainfall for Long Sutton is 617mm (24.3”), so the trend is that we are getting a lot more rain, which is also how it feels!

During 2024 we have tried to keep improving and adding some fun at Fenland Dog Park.  At the start of the year we held a customer feedback session to gain feedback directly from you, and we made Gift Certificates available to purchase, and put up more signs about keeping the site clean and tidy.  In the Spring we planted a few trees around the surrounding area of the dog park to help wildlife and biodiversity.  We have continued to support the local community, in particular Long Sutton Cricket Club and Long Sutton Hockey Club.  This Autumn we celebrated Howl-O-Ween and we ended the year with Snowy and Sprucey greeting you at the site entrance.

As you may have seen from our recent social media post, the council have now permitted us to have 6 dogs on site at one time.  There are not many individual families with six dogs, but it will allow you to visit Fenland Dog Park with family and friends and their dogs.  Please do have fun and tidy up after yourselves, but please also be considerate to our neighbours, with no excessive noise or sustained barking.

With the day length starting to increase keep an eye out on the website and social media posts for opening hours extending, with the 4pm-5pm booking slot becoming available again towards the end of this month. As day length continues to increase, we will continue to open up the booking slots to our permitted times.

Thank you for your continued support, and we wish you and your dogs a happy and healthy 2025.
